This past week of class was an interesting one at that. In my blog post last week about monday's readings I talked about how I enjoy adding drama to the class or lesson because it keeps the class interesting. Adding dramatic elements to the classroom was something my high school teachers often did and even some of my middle school teachers did as well.
During class on Monday we totally have just got in a circle and discussed the reading and how we could possibly use them in a class room setting, as most education classes tend to do. But instead we got up and did the drama, took on roll playing and everyone in the class was involved. Kids in high school classrooms may be aprrehensive about getting up in front of their peers but with these activities every single student is involved and everyone is sharing the work and drama. By putting us into the different roles after reading the poem, we were kind of forced to look at the poem and deeper more critically without even realizing it. And plus it we had fun doing it especially because we were all equally active.
